How to throw an epic Disney party!
**Disclosure: I received products for free as compensation to share my experience hosting a Disney Kids party.**
Thank you to this year’s sponsors who made this party a huge success!
It’s no secret that I LOVE parties, planning them that is so I went we got selected to host our very own Disney Kids pre school party I got really excited. I have done several parties over the last couple of years and they are always so much fun and everyone has a blast. This year was no different, after a long week of rain and cold it finally warmed up for our party and I couldn’t have picked a better day.
We choose to have our party the weekend of Mother’s Day and invited many little friends over to share the Disney magic. The house was decked out in yellow, red and black for Mickey Mouse of course! The kids loved seeing all the decorations and snacks, their treat bags were packed with tons of Disney goodies to kick the party off.
Here are 6 ways to throw an epic party:
DIY decorations – You’ll save money and time by making your own decorations and it doesn’t require fancy products that you don’t already own or is costly. I made many decorations just using some ribbon, poster boards, and other items that were inexpensive.
DIY Food – Make your own food and you’ll save money and the hassle of running here and there to pick up the items at different places.
Decorate the night before – If you can decorate the night before (if you’re hosting a party at your home or the venue will allow) this will save you time and energy on the party day.
Setup early – Setting up early is the key to having a great party, it will give you time to relax before the party and ensure you spend the most time with the people who are the most important; the kids.
Plan your party well in advance – I highly suggest planning your party at least a month in advance, party planning can be hectic and overwhelming for many people especially if you’re on a budget. New ideas are always coming about so keep looking for new ideas for your party and draw inspiration if your party from other websites, blogs, magazines etc. Pinterest is one of my favorite places to find party idea and I pin occasionally ideas for parties then draw my own inspiration by putting my own spin on it. Party planning can be fun when done right.
Don’t forget about mom & dad – Don’t forget about including the parents in your party fun, while the party may be for kids think of mom and dad as well. Find multi-generational games that everyone can play like Pin-The-Smile on Mickey, Bingo, and Charades. If you include everyone your guests will have the best time and will be talking about if for a long time.
We played Pin-The-Smile on Mickey, we did a Disney word search, play Disney bingo, Disney memory and even had a photo booth! Best of all having this epic, just because the party was a fun way for the moms to spend with their kids on the best weekend of all. For this party I created a few things to make it spectacular; I made an awesome Mickey Mouse Wreath, Mickey Mouse Headbands and a few years ago I made that awesome Mickey Mouse Banner. The backdrop? Plastic table cloths! Best of all many of the decorations I’ve picked up over the years and found more at the dollar store!
Everyone loves Mickey Mouse and this party was so much fun and I am super glad everyone enjoyed it, I hope to plan other Disney parties in the near future. Who is your favorite Disney character?
